John Linnell

Born in Bloomsbury, the second son of a picture framer. He entered the RA in 1805 (aged 13) and became a successful landscape painter and worked closely with artists like Samuel Palmer, William Mulready and William Henry Hunt. He met William Blake in 1818 and this highly influenced hs work. He lived at Redhill in Surrey.
