James Hayllar (1829 - 1920) was a painter of portraits, landscapes and figure subjects often featuring pretty girls - of which he had four himself. He rented Castle Priory in Wallingford on the Thames where he lived with his daughters, Edith, Jessica, Kate and Mary. All exhibited at the RA alongside their father.
You might be interested to know that there's a special exhibition of Wallingford artists such as the Hayllars and their descendants in Wallingford Museum, Oxfordshire, UK until the end of November
