(Sir) Edward Coley Burne-Jones - Love and Beauty

The industralist Lowthian Bell commissioned designs for a series of embroideries on courtly love which were to be worked by his wife and daughter and were to form a decorative frieze at his home Rounton Grange. William Morris was to design the decorative backgrounds. The finished tapestries are now in the William Morris gallery at Walthamstow. This design appears in the centre of the third tapestry of the set.
