I am not usually a huge fan of water colours, but this one is important, isn't it. Just the content (the departure of Sturt's third and final expedition from Adelaide) and date (1844?) alone make it fascinating.

Sending out a survey and land-exploring expedition from Adelaide across a largely unknown and dangerous continent seemed to galvanise the locals.

And it seems so busy. And human beings from the cave men on seem to need to record what is around then.
