I love the dark richness of the autumnal palette here, and the distant light really draws your eye into the painting. It reminds me of the works of Yorkshire watercolourist Tom Clifton Butterfield, 1856-1937. Thanks for posting! Jane Gray

Thank you. The northern artists like Grimshaw and the one you mention seem particularly good at light and shade effects.
