We probably can't know about the quality of the magic lantern presentations back in 1890, but I do like the mahogany and gilt lacquered brass design. Even 120 years later, it is quite an impressive piece of furniture

I'm sure we would be told it is too expensive today (?) but how beautiful it is. Plastic isn't the same. I blame Bakelite.
