George Barrell Willcock

[On the River Exe] 1846
oil on canvas
.
1811 - 1852.
Landscape painter. Born in Exeter. Gave up coach painting to study painting with his friend James Stark. Exhibited at the RA 1846-51 and elsewhere. Most of his scenes are in Devon and are similar to and may be confused with the better known (and more expensive) Stark.
