Leonard Campbell Taylor

1874 - 1969.

The son of an organist at New College, Taylor went to the Ruskin School before going on to St John's Wood Art School and the Royal Academy Schools which he entered in 1905, though he had begun to exhibit at the RA by 1899 and exhibuted there for another 70 years. He specialised in genre scenes, interiors and portraits. He was influenced by Vermeer but, as shown here, also loved oriental art.
