Belgian ( 1882 - 1966)
Though born in Belgium, Pothast spent most of his career in England. He specialised in domestic interiors, usually with children. His work is known for lovely control of light. Pothast studied in Amsterdam and his work shows the influence of the Classical Dutch tradition.

I am writing to correct the information in your biographical information of this artist. Although born in Belgium, Pothast was Dutch and never lived or worked in England.
