Thomas Woodward

1801 - 1852.
Painter of animal portraits, landscapes, genre and historical subjects. Born at Pershore, Worcs. and was a pupil of Abraham Cooper. Exhibited at the RA and elsewhere. His landscapes are often based on Scottish scenery and feature local cattle. He was employed by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to paint their favourite animals and others of the Court employed him likewise.
