Love it. One of the subjects the students come back to, over and over again, is The Art and Architecture of British Writers. Always, as your notes suggest, on a long "trail" of homes and other connections.
The theory is that you cannot truly understand a writer's output until you have examined his or her life closely. The Thomas Hardy Trail, including this gorgeous cottage, has been a delight.

It does seem to relect his writings and poetry and attitude to life.
