George Sant was brother of the much more acclaimed James Sant, RA (1820-1916), who was Principal Painter in Ordinary to Queen Victoria.
Their sister Sarah Sherwood Clarke was also a highly talented artist, although unknown. A collection of 48 watercolours of Scotland are to be exhibited for the first time at the Watercolours + Works on Paper Fair in London in February 2010.
