Arthur Wardle - A Study of Two Tigers, One Crouching and One Sleeping

Coloured chalks; 10¾ × 14½ ins

Wardle was one of England’s finest animal artists, and particularly admired for his
studies of wild cats. These chalk studies of tigers are typical of his vivid style. For the best article about Wardle, see The Studio, lxvii 1916, pp. 3–14.
