I have heard that Japanese art collectors are particularly interested in Van Gogh. And other impressionists and post-impressionists. Why do you think this is?
Not sure but some of the colours and lines remind me of Japanese prints. I have a little knowledge of Chinese opera and martial arts but feel ignorant of the painted arts. So much, so little time. Have a good 2011.
Impressionists and Post-impressionists were greatly influenced by Japanese prints. The cross-cultural influences are still appreciated event today.
