Alfred Rankley

Rankley exhibited at the RA from 1841.
This shows an early Dame School.
Genre and historical painter, pupil of the RA Schools. He turned to genre in particular when his historical scenes didn't prove popular.

my husband went to a yard sale and he bought 3 framed pictures including the one posted on your website..it has a post on the bottom the school room by arthur rankley 1819-1872 ..we have 3 framed in glass with green and gold over the painting..and a wooden glass frame..are these original pictures or not..email silvermist62@hotmail.com
