Such a fine painting.I'm currently preparing a film script of, 'King Lear', which I hope to start shooting at the end of the year, so this painting has special meaning to me. What is most striking is how the artist has portrayed Cordelia. She emanates great strength, tenderness and love. And, most interestingly, an awareness of the danger they're facing. I'm determined to find a Cordelia like the one in this painting.
We've just put this painting on show again at Leeds Art Gallery where it will hang, next to another painting by the same artist depicting 'The Death of General Gordon'. Cordelia was acquired for the Gallery in the same year it opened, 1888, by the prime mover behind the building of a public gallery for Leeds, Col. Harding

Good luck. That would be a most striking face.
