Oh how those children must have disliked sitting for this painting! I wonder if they could ever bear to look at this book again. Look at the boy's brushed hair! I wonder how long it took to get him be be still enough to get it that smooth and shiny. A picture for proud relatives if ever there was one!

Good points Lucy. They seem to be painted rather like little dolls.
