This wonderful painting is in an old (January 2004) edition of Country Life in the background to Sabine (then 19), the daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip Hook. Doesn't say anything about who the family are or I would write to them. Just love the painting.

Amazing! a distant relative maybe?. The painting is beautiful, she is beautiful as well.
I've just been emailed its by Louis Picard 1901. A French painter. I think its superb.
I would imagine she's probably the daughter of the Philip Hook who is (or was) the Impressionist and Modern Art director at Sotheby's.
