William Frederick Witherington

[Midsummer; Ye verdant Trees and Underwood, where the poetic Birds rejoice, etc.]

A naturalistic late work of the artist perhaps reflecting the 'truthfullness' of the then new Pre-Raphaelite influences coming in.
Landscape and rustic genre painter. Went to the RA schools. Painted in Devon, the West Country and Wales and exhibited at the RA 1811 - 1863 (138 works).
