Now Rhyl is a place I have never been to, but those Edwardian council members must have thought the town deserved a fabulous palace, theatre and every other facility. It looked lush!

How things change.

"Rhyl in the early nineteenth century was a small village with a population of about 300. By the end of the mid 1830's it had become a fashionable watering place and many titled people took rooms for months at a time."

It looks a little faded now but I liked it. Barnstaple is the same, sort of left behind by the tide of time.
