Sleeping beauty awakes: the St Pancras Midland Grand hotel

I am not always fond of gothic revival buildings, even though they were so popular in the late Victorian era. But this was special, wasn't it.

So it was important that all renovations had to meet English Heritage approval. Otherwise we could have had a Mac Pancras Midland Grand hotel on our hands :(

I managed to see it being restored a few years ago. But I think having to fit doors to the eleators is stupid. Still Betjaman would have been pleased.

MrM was involved in the restoration of St. Pancras and as a result we have a chimney pot which was surplus to requirements in our garden.
